As with any other profession, you have your ‘pros.’ You know the ones, who really know their stuff and have been doing ‘it’ for year. And then there are the novices, those who may have had some training, but lack the experience needed to overcome the unexpected. There are many hypnotists out there who’ve had maybe 3 days of training at most. What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a naturally occurring altered state of consciousness, in which people accept suggestions without making critical judgments. Being ‘lost in thought,’ ‘day dreaming’ or ‘highway hypnosis’ are all euphemisms for being in a light hypnotic state of consciousness.
Is hypnosis real?
Yes it is. Hypnosis is a feeling of complete mental and physical relaxation. You are awake and aware of what is going on around you, and your mind is still active. If you were 'asleep' you would not be able to interact with SZELES. Your sub conscious mind protects you at all times, so you will never do anything which would violate your moral or ethical reasoning.
Can anyone be hypnotized?
Certainly anyone with an open mind, reasonable intelligence and who is able to concentrate can be hypnotized. Some people are more difficult to induce hypnosis in than others, but this does not mean that they are less capable of being hypnotized. It merely indicates their resistance for one of many possible reasons (fear of losing control, etc.) Sometimes it may take you two or more tries to go 'under', so don't give up!
Is hypnosis safe?
Hypnosis is safe when induced by an experienced, qualified professional such as SZELES. In Fact, during his thirty years of performing comedy hypnosis, SZELES has never had any kind of accident or law suit filed against him as a result of negligence. So relax, you are in competent hands!
Are there any limitations for the volunteers?
While anyone can be hypnotized, SZELES will not hypnotize anyone under the age of 16, or anyone who is handicapped or pregnant. Volunteers for Grad Night must have a signed parental permission slip, unless they are 18 years of age or older.

The fee we quote is all inclusive. There are no hidden fees or charges. What you are quoted is what you will pay for your performance. Fees vary based upon distance and time of year, so it is always advisable to book SZELES as early as possible.
Do you have an assistant?
Yes, my wife Pauline assists me with all of my shows. She often jokes that she can do my show backwards, as she has been to pretty near all of them!
